95405 Neighborhood Assoc Howarth Park Green Up

The Neighborhood Association serving the 95405 Zip Code organized a green up day at Howarth Park that took place on 7/30/2011. We had a good turn out and spruced up all around the lower park area – the softball field, bleachers, tennis courts, and the upper playground. We did this in return for no fee at our summer picnic at the park the prior weekend. Thanks to all of you who turned out for the event!

95405 Zip Picnic July 2011

On July 23, 2011 the Neighborhood Association held a community picnic at Howarth Park.  We had a BBQ grill fired up and people brought something tasty to BBQ and a side dish to share.  We had more than enough delicious food, tasty brownies, and those boxes of wine came in pretty handy since we couldn’t have glass.  We had a music circle where each person chose an acoustic instrument to play – there were drums, rattles, flutes, chimes, clavas, and some things I don’t know the name for.  Everyone met some new people and some people reconnected after 30 years of not seeing each other!

This was a welcome change from a meeting in a conference room 🙂
